In the position of Data Engineer you will play a critical role in designing and maintaining scalable, high-performing data solutions within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

 

What you will do

As a Data Engineer you will operate within the Terberg Special Vehicles Aftersales AI product team. The role is responsible for developing, integrating, and maintaining data structures and pipelines that power the AI platform "Mechanic of the Future". The goal is to ensure a robust, scalable, and trustworthy data solution that integrates seamlessly with existing IT systems. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary product team consisting of a product owner, data scientists, and software engineers.

A key responsibility of this role is to actively contribute to Terberg Special Vehicles Aftersales’ strategic mission of embedding a digital and AI-driven product development culture. You will work within an agile, multidisciplinary product team and help foster innovation across the broader Terberg organization.

 

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Design and maintain scalable data pipelines for batch and real-time processing
  • Ingest data from various cloud and on-premise sources
  • Apply CI/CD principles, version control, and documentation
  • Ensure secure and reliable data flows aligned with governance standards
  • Continuously improve data infrastructure to support evolving needs
  • Monitor system performance and manage logs
  • Develop pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Databricks
  • Process data with Python, (No)SQL, Gremlin, and (Py)Spark
  • Optimize data flow efficiency and cost
  • Collaborate with the product team to deliver AI solutions
  • Maintain code and documentation using Azure DevOps or GitHub

 

Who are you and what do you bring?

  • You have a strong foundation in modern data engineering practices, including the development of robust data pipelines, real-time data processing, and the use of cloud-based platforms.
  • Besides that you have experience in managing both structured and unstructured data using a wide range of tools and technologies. A high level of attention to detail is essential, as the reliability and accuracy of data directly impact business operations and decision-making processes.
